Terrestrial stalk strider

On with the pseudo-scientific description!!!


TERRESTRIAL STALK STRIDER:
A creature found mostly in the Sea's Corpse, The Terrestrial Stalk Strider(TSS for short) is one of very few descendants from the prehistoric body of water. They prey on high-flying leather wings and unfortunate victims of the frequent dust storms that plague the locale.

LOCOMOTION:
Nothing too odd about this. It's actually pretty obvious. However, being a creature of my imagination, I included a quirk about it's movin' limbs. First off, the bottoms of the feet have small seismic sensors that can alert the Stalker of any incoming obstacles or predators.
And, as if that weren't enough, the Stalker also has a very bony organ that will 'see' unpleasant obstacles underfoot that aren't spotted by the very elevated eyes.

FEEDING:
Because the TSS doesn't actually need to breathe, it's throat has several filter vents that allow any air sucked in to be immediately expelled. Because of this, the creature is able to suck in air at an incredibly high speed, taking skyward prey in. The only thing that escapes is the air. Though the TSS have teeth, they prefer to swallow prey whole. The prey are eventually suffocated in the tight esophagus tube that travels down the back and into the glowy storage sac. The resulting decay is what the TSS consumes.
